Project Description
The Government of Lao PDR and the PRC signed a Joint Framework Plan for the Boten - Mohan Economic Cooperation Zone between Lao PDR - PRC in 2015, and Brief Master Plan for Border Economic Cooperation Zone in 2016. To achieve the objectives of connected infrastructure, facilitating cross border movement of goods, services and peoples while ensuring effective and efficient administration and monitoring system, the Lao PDR needs technical assistance and financial support to map out different procedures and regulations as well as training for relevant staff members at central and local levels to accomplish the objectives. The training could be a combination of course work and field trips to other cross border SEZs such as China-Kazakhstan cross border zone and other SEZs that have played significant roles in terms of facilitating border trade and cooperation.
