Greater Mekong Subregion countries will meet on 13-14 June 2023, in Manila, Philippines, for the first GMS Energy Transition Task Force Meeting (ETTF).  

The meeting will discuss the following:  

  • Regional Cooperation in Energy Transition  

  • GMS Energy Sector Assessment and Strategy 

  • The ETTF and Planning of Future Activities 

  • Sustaining GMS cooperation on Regional Power trade; planning and executing future bilateral or multilateral interconnections 

  • Accelerating Energy Efficiency programs to promote more competitive industries through energy cost savings 

  • Updates on Capacity Building and Training Needs

  • Development Partner Forum on Supporting Energy Transition in the GMS 


The meeting will also provide updates on the energy sector of GMS countries and the Regional Investment Framework for GMS.
