Cambodia Seeking Further Support with Cross-border Facilities [3]

Mr. Sun Chanthol, Cambodia Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport, has requested the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for further support for the development of Cambodia's cross-border facilities. Cambodia aims to ease logistics and boost transportation to expand within the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) and the ASEAN region.

ADB has continuously supported the development of infrastructure in Cambodia.  The Asia Pacific Project Preparation Facility [4] (AP3F), managed by ADB’s Office of Public Private Partnerships, helped prepare a project pre-feasibility for the Phnom Penh Logistics Complex [5], a proposed dry port to be located 10 kilometers west of Phnom Penh. ADB also identified potentially interested national and international project developers, and carried out initial project presentations to stakeholders.

A new ADB TA “Using Frontier Technology and Big Data Analytics for Smart Infrastructure Facility Planning and Monitoring [6],” will identify, demonstrate, and evaluate how high-level technologies can be utilized to effectively plan high-quality infrastructure investments, especially for transport infrastructure, and measure their economic impacts. The TA will conduct a case study evaluating the impact of transport infrastructure investments in selected GMS countries.
