Digital Tools Help Students Reach the Labor Market in Lao PDR

The Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) has one of the fastest rates of urbanization in Asia. To boost economic development and attract foreign investments, a smart and able workforce is essential.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB), with the support of the Australian Government through the ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund (AASCTF), is working with the city of Kaysone to develop e-learning and digital tools that will equip future graduates with the practical skills required by the labor market.

Academic institutions can also upgrade their training programs, while the private sector will be able to recruit the right employees.

Through these digital solutions, companies can reduce the time allotted for orienting new hires, leading to business efficiency and economic benefits for the city.

Learn more about AASCTF  [2]and project updates by following the AASCTF social media channels.
