Project Description

The proposed Technical Assistance project is to connect with Thailand. It is situated in Kayin and Mon State, Myanmar. Rationale/Justification: Feasibility Study for the missing link of Hpa-an - Myawaddy- Mae Sot as a spur line of Singapore-Kunming Rail Link (SKRL) with the Technical Assistance by development partner instead of Dawei- Htiki-Ban Phunam Ran (Thai) was proposed to input ACMECS Master Plan in 2019.

Progress (as of March 2021)

Proposed. This is one of the 3 route options to connect Myanmar and Thailand as indicated in the TA No.8, Feasibility Study on Upgrading of Mawlamyine- Dawei-Htikee Rail Link (452.58km)
