Project Description
The Government of Myanmar and the Thai government signed a memorandum of understanding on 19 May 2011 to expand their cooperation in promoting sustainable development in the Dawei Special Economic Zone and its related project areas. Since railways play an important role in transporting cargo, the rail links between LCP and Dawei deep sea port will promote the movement of cargo between the two countries. It seems advisable for Myanmar and Thailand to consider this project as a joint project, and to conduct this feasibility study together so as to create the best outcomes for the GMS and ASEAN.
