Project Description

The Global Fund Regional Tuberculosis Grant (2019-2021) is a multi-country grant for tuberculosis interventions among migrant and mobile populations in the Mekong region. It involves cross-border systematic screening and referral and information sharing.




Progress (as of March 2021)

Ongoing. Key implementers and main activities in each country with set targets throughout three years (2019-2021) finalized including the implementation arrangement/ mapping of the project. The remaining regional activities are M-Fund (USD 149,999) and Regional Database Development (USD 300, 000). A virtual meeting was hosted by CCM Thailand Secretariat on July 17, 2020 and attended by Cambodia, the Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the country implementation plans, development of catch-up plans, and the next funding request. Key activities that are currently being done by the countries include establishment of containers for mobile clinics for TB screening around Cambodia border provinces; remapping of high migrant concentration areas in eight Lao PDR provinces; and acceleration of mandatory TB case notification from private sector in Myanmar.
