30 Years of Cooperation

Since the inception of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Cooperation Program in 1992, it has achieved noteworthy successes in fostering regional cooperation in a region that was emerging from a period of prolonged regional conflict. The GMS countries are Cambodia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), Myanmar, the People’s Republic of China (PRC, specifically Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region), Thailand, and Viet Nam.
