The Yunnan Integrated Roads Network Development Project is helping to build community-based women’s groups responsible for maintaining the condition of rural roads near their villages.
MANILA, PHILIPPINES (10 December 2014)– The Asian Development Bank has approved a loan of $200 million to improve villagers’ access to regional roads in Yunnan Province, the People’s Republic of China, in a project that will alleviate poverty and promote regional trade.
PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA (10 December 2014)– In an effort to highlight the contribution of youth to the Greater Mekong Subregion, the Asian Development Bank is assisting 36 national youth representatives from Mekong countries on a journey of learning, to culminate in a youth message to the 5th GMS Summit to be held in Bangkok, Thailand next week.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES (24 March 2014) – The People’s Republic of China will expand biodiversity corridors to link 10 nature reserves in the southwestern corner of the country – including critical habitat for the Cao Vit gibbon, one of the rarest apes in the world – following workshops conducted as part of the Greater Mekong Subregion’s Core Environment Program.

KUNMING, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA (22 March 2014) – Asian Development Bank President Takehiko Nakao met with Yunnan Governor Li Jiheng and discussed the province's development challenges and potential during a three-day visit to the People’s Republic of China.
Biodiversity corridors have been introduced in threatened tropical areas of Yunnan province, People's Republic of China, with ADB support. The program is ensuring the survival of rare plant and animal species, while eco-farming practices provide local communities with sustainable livelihoods.
