Strengthening Regional Health Cooperation in the Greater Mekong Subregion - Phase 2 Inception Meeting

The Greater Mekong Subregion's Working Group on Health Cooperation (GMS-WGHC) attended an inception meeting at the ADB Headquarters on 2 April 2025. The meeting launched the Regional Technical Assistance (TA) Strengthening Regional Health Cooperation in the Greater Mekong Subregion – Phase 2. The new TA is supported by the ADB and the Government of Japan through the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific.  The GMS Region Health Cooperation Strategy 2024-2030 and TA will provide an opportunity to build on the solid foundation laid by the first Health Cooperation Strategy and help the GMS countries reach the shared target of Universal Health Coverage by 2030. Ms Karin Schelzig, Director, Human and Social Development Sector Office, delivered the opening remarks.
